Electron Correlation Effects in Paramagnetic Cobalt

We study the influence of Coulomb correlations on spectral and magnetic properties fcc cobalt using a combination density functional theory dynamical mean-field theory. The computed uniform local susceptibilities obey Curie-Weiss law, which, as we demonstrate, occurs due to partial formation moments. find that lifetime these moments in is significantly less than bcc iron, suggesting more itinerant magnetism cobalt. In contrast obtained electronic self-energies exhibit quasiparticle shape with mass enhancement factor ${m^*/m}\sim$1.8, corresponding moderately correlated metal. Finally, our calculations reveal static susceptibility dominated by ferromagnetic correlations, evidenced its momentum dependence.
